Well, I just had to nreinstall WIN 7, 64BIT, 2 Seagate harddrives gave out.
S.M.A.R.T. ALREADY was bad, but a copy and reverse to BOINC 6.10.60
from 6.12.34, ended in a mess.
Does that computer happen to be an HP model? If so, you might want to know that, on some models, their S.M.A.R.T. test happens to assume that no other tasks are running, and will appear to fail if you leave BOINC running at the same time.
That may cause problems if you then have new hard drives installed without any effort to recover what you can from the old hard drives. It's already happened to me at least a year ago.
