They launched the first

They launched the first Saturn 5 without checking everything as 'methodically' as the Germans (Von Braun ) would have liked ...
But - It worked .... Flawlessly !

The fuel tanks of the Delta IV Heavy’s three core boosters will be pressurized and held for two minutes before the fill-and-drain valves are activated to see if they respond as they should. Again, the launch window today remains open until 9:44 a.m. EST.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Weather Channel is saying the last attempt today will be at 9:44 am EST, meaning if they don't make it then they will try again tomorrow. A live stream, with no talking or words, can be seen here:

LAUNCH SCRUBBED FOR TODAY!!
Tomorrow mornings launch time is scheduled for 7am. The weather is expected to be the same again tomorrow, so wind could be an issue again.

Phew, that's a relief. There is a town called Holland in Indiana. :-)

There is also one in Michigan; it was my destination for the day.

But, speaking of trains, I'm doing the Where Are We quiz for my NRHS chapter next week, and I have to get busy editing and selecting photos and making sure I know where they are and complete rail history of each location (back to 1900). This is my second year doing this, and I'm way behind compared to last year.

"Tomorrow" works better for

"Tomorrow" works better for me. I should be able to see it from the back yard and if the sky is clear, i.e., no low ceiling get a pic of it. My opportunity for today was interrupted by a dental appointment and as it turned out I lost "nothing". Looking forward to seeing this fly.

Me too. About 1.25 hours south of the cape by car. How good the pics are depends which direction they are flying. if southbound over the Atlantic then better then a northern route. You really need a big telephoto. If there is a low ceiling then time between when it clears the horizon and enters the ceiling is very short from where I lived. Not much chance to get a pic. All that really matters is that it just flies.
