I'd settle for a sticker to put on my Raspberry Pi crunching numbers all day in my living room, though perhaps I should aim higher and aim to create a digital display with my current statistics.
I agree but if a "PRO" Scientist can handle this on their own they WHY did they bring this stuff to the public and allow it to help, surely not because it was out of charity. The public being able to help with this stuff makes it happen quicker and cheaper in the long run than trying to buy time on a super computer to do it in 10 seconds only to find out there's a problem with the programming and all the units fail and they have to come up with the money and time to run it again.
Would love to see the Einstein@home signature getting released.
But not only for points! Why not make it with:
contributor badges for finding NEW Pulsars
contributor badges for finding re-detectors Pulsars
contributor badge for finding FGRPs
contributor badge for finding Gravitational wave(s)
If the scientists do not have the time, lets help them. Scientists can make suggestion how each & every badge should look like & I am willing to pay for a design on fiverr.
Then it is only a matter of implementing it on web site, which is standard for a whole bunch of (BOINC) projects. So should not be so hard.
