Congrats to Chipper Q for him

Congrats to Chipper Q for him being selected as Einstein@Home's UOTD today. So, did they take a personal check?

My congrats to ChipperQ. His

My congrats to ChipperQ. His profile reminded me of one of my phyics professors at Trieste U who was fond of using his slide rule (no personal computers or digital assistants then). Once he said: square root of 4? That's about 2. Also professor Francis Everitt, the father of the Gravity Probe 2, in his video lecture claims of never having used a computer. But I think he needs more than one supercomputer to end the analysis of the Gravity Probe 2 data, a task which NASA does not sponsor or finance. Maybe a program like Einstein@home?

Wow, thanks! What a pleasant

Wow, thanks! What a pleasant surprise! I had thought I was declared ineligible for UOTD ever since that time I broke one of the science threads... so I'd like to take this opportunity to quote the sig of one of the coolest cats at TFFE: “I think I speak for everyone when I say, huh? :))

Sad news about the Gravity Probe mission – I thought there was still work to do ironing out some of the technology that will be used for the LISA mission. I don't think anyone can say the mission wasn't successful, just not quite a 'complete' success – yet!

Thanks Dan!
You mean the one that says, I meditated, cleared my aura, opened my chakras, said affirmations, examined my beliefs, aligned my spine, focused my energy, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt ?

Seriously, do you really get a t-shirt for being UOTD?

The above bit o' wit came from here, some other gotta-share-'em bits are:
“help! i'm a multidimensional being trapped in a linear space-time continuum
“Tinfoil Haberdashery
“When You're Not Looking, I'm Just A Waveform
“Karma Savings & Loan
, and
“The Gods Are Too Fond Of A Joke

I haven't received a UOTD T-shirt yet from any of the times i was UOTD at the various projects...But i keep dropping hints hoping someone will make a UOTD T-shirt the accepted trophy for being honored as a BOINC project User of the Day.
