Wow..that looks cool. The most exciting things i have done recently involved diet coke and mentos..not quite on the level of paramotoring :D

I'm planning on doing that this summer with a group of 2nd and 3rd graders. They have a test during their double period on Wednesday, but on Friday we'll start talking about designing experiments. Should be fun (*crosses fingers*).

Yeah..we've been showing the kids it at school as a bit of end of term fun..and I recently showed it to my own boys.

I suggest you do a few practice sessions first as you are very likely to get covered in coke. You might also want to think about making a nozzle to get a higher fountain. At work we used a rubber bung with a bit of tubing in so you could drop the mentos in and quickly get the bung in. When i did it for my boys we fashioned a spout using a wine cork with a hole drilled in it and an aluminium tube stuck in it.

As you can see..I got a load of coke in my face :D

Very quick. It works with sand too, so it's not a chemical reaction. It's shame we didn't film the other attempts as i got quite nifty with putting the cork in fast.

With that practice, Es would make a good mortar bomb gunner. Drop the bomb down the tube and get out of the way. I reckon she could launch 7 mortars in flight at the same time before the first strikes ground.

What, and shout 'Mentos in the hole!'? She dropped one ( or two )! And then she pfaffed about. I think you're right, but : with more practice, Es would make a good mortar ..... :-) :-) :-)

Cheers, [ ducks and runs ] Mike.
