Sorry about the backface delay : Thanks, but, um, what about Annie's first two?
ACEIILMNNOOOOOPPRRT : 1

... putting aside a certain, shall we say, flammable gas pipe focus there are some good partials as I am known to call them.
Bonus hints :
- there is only one double letter combo and that is two of the O's
- the R's are each next to an O But you don't say whether they're RO or OR or one of each.
- the first and last letters of the word are a mere two steps away in the alphabet That still leaves several possibilities: AC, CE, LN, MO, NP, PR, RT, and any of them in either order.
- in the middle of the word there is an implied color reference
Cheers, Mike.

A mild hint to anyone trying it is - don't :) I think it's supposed to be shoved in your eye. Mike would probably know more about that though ...

Yes I didn't I, David? And you said that 36 days ago *slide eyes towards no one in particular* I suspect nothing's been said because I got the word right immediately. And I expect you all to agree...
However :) I decided to humour him a little by considering whether

I wrote down the jumble on a fresh sheet of paper the other day, but that was as far as I got.
I do have a new word ready if I win, though.
